Program Elements Partner teachers receive a $1,000 credit at Scholastic to purchase award-winning titles for the students to take home and call their own. We also want to provide students with tangible demonstrations of their success in reading, so we provide teachers with small giveaways such as bookmarks, and certificates to reward students as they work towards reading more and more books throughout the year. In addition to supporting students, we provide teachers with gift cards that can be used to purchase classroom resources and supplies. At the end of the year teachers report back on the number of books each student received, the average amount of books read, literacy progress and provide thank you notes for the sponsor.

All Stars Helping Kids, together with Scholastic Literacy Partnerships and Playworks, Inc. is poised to put more books into the hands of children who need them most. Through this program we match sponsors with classrooms to provide students with high-quality books for their home library, reading incentives, and teachers with rewards. We hope this program will fill the void left by school districts that have been forced to cut programs in order to make ends meet.
