How He's in the Game

Brian Westbrook has always jumped at the opportunity to meet a need in his community. Working through his personal foundation and through his team’s community outreach programs he’s donated time to better the lives of those around him. He’s volunteered with organizations like Rebuilding Together Philadelphia to distribute food and toys during the Holidays. Last year, Westbrook stepped up to purchase full Thanksgiving meals for 50+ families in the Philadelphia area. Despite struggling with injuries at the time, he insisted on personally delivering the food so that each family could enjoy the meal in the comfort of their own homes. He also organized a holiday party for families in the area during which they recieved food and gifts. Moreover, Brian recognized that many of the children had never experienced what it feels like to give a gift -- so he and his team set up a station where young boys and girls could pick out gifts for family members and wrap them.

Westbrook also serves the youth in his hometown, Washington, DC. Most recently, he donated 150 backpacks filled with school supplies to children about the start the new school year. In addition, he's also donated truckloads of food and personal care items to crisis shelters over the years. Regarding his commitment to service, Westbrook explains, “I am so blessed to be in a position to share with others and to be a part of teaching the kids that it’s important to be involved in the community. It’s very humbling for me to participate in things like this. My hope is that this encourages the kids to learn about helping others and feel like they can be anything they want to be.”
