On Saturday November 19th, our All Stars Helping Kids Program Director, Christina Pham, had the pleasure of escorting 50 families from the Mayfair neighborhood in east San Jose to the Santa Train in Napa, CA. Families from Somos Mayfair and Mayfair Community Center were invited to join in the experience. The Napa Wine Train was transformed into the Santa train for the holiday season.
The two hour train ride transported the children and their families on a magical ride to the North Pole to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus. Before going on the train, each family took a photo with Santa and many kids took the time out to reassure Santa that they had been good this year. On the train, the families enjoyed hot chocolate and homemade chocolate cookies while helping Jolly the Bear become a real bear at the North Pole with their magical bracelets that were given to them before they embarked on their journey.
The children’s eyes lit up as they approached the North Pole, they were so excited to wave to Santa and Mrs. Claus outside of their window. Adults on the train were also getting in on the excitement by pointing out decorations and lights to the children when the train passed through the North Pole. The ride ended with each child receiving a bear from the staff. The fun-filled day ended with many families expressing their gratitude to Christina and All Stars Helping Kids for the opportunity to participate in an experience that brought great joy and long lasting memories to their children.
Thank you to our donors and All Star family for helping make moments like this happen for under-resourced children in our surrounding communities. We appreciate you!
