All Stars Helping Kids Joins Eric’s Vison at the 7th Annual ALS Run/Walk for a Cure

In April, All Stars Helping Kids was honored to join Eric’s Vision at Tracy Toyota for the 7th Annual ALS Run / Walk for a Cure in support of individuals with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). Over 250 from the Tracy community came out for the event, which included a BBQ hosted by the Tracy Fire Department and a raffle for a new flat screen television!

Many community leaders participated, including NFL Hall-of-Famer Ronnie Lott, former 49er’s player Eric Wright, Tracy Mayor Robert Rickman, San Joaquin County supervisor Bob Elliot, and Tracy Fire Chief Randall Bradley.

We are so thankful for all the volunteers and attendees who supported the event, which raised more than $35,000 to battle ALS! A portion of the proceeds was donated to the Forbes Norris ALS Clinic in honor of Kenny Perez, a Tracy resident who passed away from ALS in 2011.

Eric’s Vision was founded in 2008 by Eric Scoggins, his wife Shonta, and his friends. A former professional football player diagnosed with ALS, Eric channeled his talent, determination, time and resources toward finding a cure for the disease until his passing in 2009. Today, Shonta Scoggins carries on Eric’s passion to raise awareness and support for the issue. Eric’s Vision connects local ALS patients and their families with practical resources, healthcare providers, and doctors.
