Playing For Bishop Sullivan

How He's in the Game

After being drafted into the MLB by the Kansas City Royals, Billy Butler didn’t waste any time getting involved in his community. He and his wife Katie teamed up with the Bishop Sullivan Center, the largest single site provider of emergency assistance in the Kansas City area, to create the Hit-It-A-Ton campaign aimed at feeding the hungry. Billy collaborated with local businesses to donate one ton of food for every home run and has brought teammate Mike Aviles onboard. The Hit-It-A-Ton campaign also gets fans involved by encouraging them to make donations for the chance to win signed memorabilia or time with him.

Butler has quickly become a fan favorite in Kansas City. On getting involved in the Hit-It-A-Ton campaign, wife Katie says, “It is one of the biggest accomplishments we have had together. It will be a touch challenge, but we are definitely up to it!”
