How He's in the Game

Cole Hamels and his wife Heidi Hamels founded the The Hamels Foundation in the fall of 2008. Since the beginning, The Hamels Foundation has been dedicated to bringing an end to extreme poverty and hardship endured by a lack of educational support. The foundation pursues a dual mission of providing financial support for quality education here in the United States as well as establishing a school in Malawi, Africa. The Hamels are devoted to enriching the lives of children and giving them the tools they need to achieve their goals both in their hometown of Philadelphia and around the world. In addition, Cole and Heidi Hamels are also in the process of establishing educational scholarships to three high schools around the country.

Cole says “I was raised in a family of educators and realized at a very early age how fortunate I was to have the opportunity of a safe, productive learning environment. My dream is to help provide every child with those opportunities as well as instilling pride in their educational accomplishments.”
