Founder, Israel Idonije Foundation

How He's in the Game
He founded the Israel Idonije Foundation in 2006 to serve families and individuals in disadvantaged communities on a local and global scale using positive life-changing opportunities. Idonije’s foundation consists of three programs: Street Love, C.A.R.E. Africa and IZZYz KIDz. IZZYz KIDz has been incorporated into the curriculum of five grammar schools. The program aims to provide lessons in leadership, taking initiative and early fundamentals for Chicago public school students.
In addition to providing financial support to the schools, Idonije regularly mentors at each of the five schools and has devoted every off day of the 2008 season to working with the students following his personal mantra of “helmet off, hands on.” As a result of his exceptional work off the field he was awarded the JB Award given by CBS sports commentator James Brown recognizing NFL players who excel beyond football.
Israel Idonije developed his passion for giving back at an early age following in his mother and father’s footsteps in providing support to the local community. They run Street Love, a charitable organization in Canada, and helped to inspire his sense of compassion and generosity.
