Playing For The Ray Lewis Foundation

How He's in the Game

Ray Lewis started his foundation, the Ray Lewis Foundation, to assist disadvantaged youth in Baltimore and in his hometown of Lakeland, Florida. Lewis has put countless hours into the community through annual Thanksgiving meal donations and donating home game tickets to programs serving kids in need. In addition, each year Ray Lewis hosts the Back-To-School Kickoff, which provides over 1,200 children with bookbags and school supplies. His annual Ray Lewis Holiday Gift Marketplace serves over 200 youth with meals and gifts.

Lewis is known for his massive hits and his generous heart. One example of his kindness was a relationship he established with a former Baltimore-area high school football player who suffered a severe spinal cord injury during a game in 2004. Lewis helped raise funds for the boy's recovery and visited him in the hospital. This is just one among the countless lives Ray has touched through his foundation.

About Ray Lewis

Ray Lewis has played for the Baltimore Ravens since 1996, and is as dedicated to his sport as he is to his community. Lewis is a 10-time Pro-Bowl player and was MVP of Super Bowl XXXV. His hard hits on the field led to two Defensive Player of the Year awards in 2000 and 2003 and six first team All-Pro selections.
